I've been offering large chunks of free reading since 1996, when I began publishing my novels online. More info about that at the Clocktower Books Museum website. My idea has always been based on my own love of reading and appreciation of books. During normal (not COVID) times, I spend up to two hours a day in one of our San Diego Barnes & Noble stores or in the Public Library, reading and researching and enjoying. I've come up with the Bookstore Metaphor: You walk in (free). You can sit all day (free) and read all you want (free). However, you can't just walk out with the book under your arm or alarms go off.
