About Clocktower Books

Image found in the Palaestra, Pompeii, dating no later than Vesuvius eruption 79 CE, actually shows a plow motif

Clocktower Books, a pioneering e-book and Print on Demand publisher, launched in April 1996 by publishing the world's first entire (not partial) proprietary (not public domain) novels (long works, industry standard) for reading online in HTML format (not for reading on portable media like CD-ROM, floppies, or other intermediary media). We have been an omnibus publisher (e-book and print) since 1996. To learn about Clocktower Books, please visit the website at

www.clocktowerbooks.com

You will find at the Museum Pages on our website a detailed history of our pioneering publishing house starting from 1996—including references and documentation (ever a work in progress). From 1998 to 2007, Clocktower Books also published what was, during its run, the world’s first professional Web-only (online) magazine of speculative and dark fiction (or SFFH). We published new authors as well as officers and top names of the Science Fiction Writers of America (SFWA); more on our pioneering work at the Science Fiction Encyclopedia online (search term: Far Sector).

Our magazine’s major names over the years included Deep Outside SFFH and Far Sector SFFH. We published many nominees or later awardees of the Hugo, Nebula, Sturgeon, and other global awards including British, Canadian, and Australian. The leading SF magazine historian Mike Ashley (Liverpool University Press) has stated he will recognize our pioneering magazine in the final final volume of his authoritative SF magazine histories.
